FAQ

Questions about running your own AI

What is local AI?

Local AI is an AI assistant that runs on your own computer, not on someone else's servers. Your questions and documents stay on your machine. It keeps working without a monthly AI subscription.

Why does memory matter?

An AI assistant has to fit into your computer's memory while it works. More memory means a bigger, smarter assistant fits. On Apple Silicon Macs, the AI chip shares the main memory. On Windows computers, the memory on the graphics card matters most. That is where AI runs fast.

Is my data private?

Yes. This check runs entirely in your browser. We never see your computer, and nothing you enter ever leaves your browser. When local AI is set up, your business data stays on your own computer.

How do you know what computer I have?

Your browser tells this page your system type and graphics chip. It stays on your screen and is never sent to us.

What if my computer is too old?

You can still have your own AI team. We can set it up in the cloud, in accounts you own. It works today. When you next upgrade your computer, you can move to local AI.
